Got my oil lamp today. Looks nice, but it sure was spendy. Near as I can tell, it's ~5x as expensive(inflation adjusted) as a comperable lamp from ~1900. This all started when I saw a $6 lamp at Walmart :shakeshead:

think my goddamn debit card got jacked. Now I have to go back to Onpoint, cancel my old card, and get a new one.

Son of a bitch.Total bullshit is what this is.

Sucks. That stuff always makes me nervous, makes me wonder HOW they got the info, and what else they might have.

It's like this weird issue I have where every time I order something online I get lot of those fake UPS notifications in the mail, that usually contain a virus. I recently did an interact money transfer, and now I keep getting fake emails relating to making financial transfers and they have viruses in them. (jokes on them, I run Linux).

I can't help but wonder if someone is reading all my email or something.

Only won a single $50 Amazon gift card at work today, rather than 2. My food entry was only good enough to net me 2nd place. =(

Swapped out my 7 year old POS MDF, loose legs bed for a new $40, all pine one. Holy shit, 40 minutes to assemble new bed, 5 hours to take apart the old one and to clean up the shit underneath I hadn't touched in years. And I forgot how heavy box spring mattresses were.

Edit: And I hate the fake name I decided to use for my website/YouTube. I like my fake Craigslist name though.

Just spent an hour configuring Google Chrome -- it was 5 minutes really but I went to screw around with the Sync settings thing and tried to figure out how/when it synced.

Also, FML. Permanently moving to Chrome from Explorer. Computer crashed again shortly after start-up. It didn't BSOD, just locked up. However, the last time it did BSOD, Windows Explorer was the culprit... and 90% of the crashes happen when I'm running Internet Explorer. I moved to Chrome at work because we were still running IE6 for a long time, didn't want to make the same change at home.

I wanted to buy a new sweater but I couldn't decide Alpaca or Cashmere. So I didn't get a sweater.

I checked my bank and I got a huge pay cheque and don't know why, almost a grand over normal. About $2,500. I'm at work now but I can't login to the system to check details because for some reason the link to it stopped working.

I just hope it's not some kind of error.

Bachelor of Education program (teachers' college) I want to apply to -- only one I have a chance at, actually -- doesn't look at graduate school grades for admissions. I went from kick-ass to mediocre -- my grades were very average in junior year of college.

I am jealous someone has both Joseph Randle and Devonta Freeman starting in their fantasy lineup today. Thank god I am not playing him.

Really starting to bug me how unqualified I am to teach in my "state" despite having years of engineering industry experience and knowing how to apply most of the crap I learned in K-12. All the application forms and outlines I've reviewed suggest that people with general education, Bachelor of Arts or Bachelors of Science degrees, and never had a job outside of being a professional student are preferred.

I know more than enough geography and western history from self-study to probably teach up to grade 10, but I'm unqualified because I never did formal courses. As it stands, I have a small chance of getting into a program to teach junior kindergarten to grade 6 at one of the worst schools in my state. What the fuq...

The whole school system is a sham. It amounts to paying an admittance fee to be considered for a job. Having a piece of paper is more valuable than having skill, aptitude, and diligence.

The bathroom on our floor is taped off because they are putting in new sinks. Have to walk down a flight of steps to take care of business.

New solid pine, no lacquer bed has been giving off a pine smell for the past week. It's really strong today because of the humidity...

That's a problem? I'd love to smell pine when I go to bed.

Isn't it still legal to use asbestos for brake pads?

Dunno about the law, but I don't think it's used anymore, at least for passenger cars. Wouldn't surprise me if trucks, trains, and ships( <.< ) still used it.
