Haven't had time to post stupid shit on atot due to training at work all week. The good news is that it's only 6 hours a day.. but we get paid for a full day....

Got called into a lunch time meeting during our office potluck. Had to scavenge the scraps by the time I got back.

The apples I bought are so large that they are too big to fit in my apple slicer so I have to slice them with a knife.

My wife desperately wants to throw a Holiday Party so I have to figure out what sort of booze to get and I will invariably wind up with 10 times as much as is necessary to satisfy the guests. And then I'm going to have to figure out what to do with all that extra booze and a 2 week vacation for Christmas... It's a conundrum.

I tried to make a nice (experimental) dinner made up of Brussels sprouts , garlic , tomatoes , Paris mushrooms, whole wheat rice, herbs and meat.
And although the garlic improved the taste of the Brussels sprouts, it was not quite what i was hoping for. It was edible, but that was about it. :|

The trick to good brussel sprouts is to get some nice, thick-cut chunks of bacon, then throw the brussel sprouts away and make the bacon instead.

Brussels sprouts are no exception to the rule that something that is healthy tastes icky. :)
Brussels sprouts contain Sulforaphane. Something that seems to help the body to ward off cancer. It is also present in broccoli and in cauliflower. These vegetables contain sulfur. I guess sulfur is good for the health. But makes them smell bad when the sulfur reacts with H to form H2S.

Boss left me in charge for an hour yesterday. During that hour an employee decided to go full retard. Now I have to do a bunch of HR paperwork. I hate supervising.

Can you say what full retard entails?

Does Canada have anything worth taking pictures of?

Not really. It's the same shit as in the US minus the canyons and desert. In place of the sandy desert, we have the white desert up north. Want to buy my cameras?

Yeah, Next time, i am going to make a soy sauce based recipe or make a sweet and sour sauce based recipe. That should make a great rice / Brussels sprouts dinner. Instead of only meatballs, i will also use Brussels sprouts.

Looking to buy a mini-fridge but everyone that I've looked at has shit energy usage stats. They're rated for about 250 kWh per year for less than 5 cubic feet of storage space. A proper, 17 cubic feet fridge only uses about 450 kWh. Best compromise seems to be a 10 cubic feet fridge that's compact but pretty big.

Watching the last Colbert Report ever... Awww, only really started watching this a year or two ago. Hope his new show's similar on the sarcasm, maybe not the focus on politics.

Tomorrow is Craig Ferguson's last show. Most of the reason I got a DVR was so I could tape his shows.

Just got back to the office after being in training all week. Trying to muscle through my last day of work before vacation. Boss took the day off and left a note on my desk saying "welcome back. slow day today - leave at 230. merry christmas"

Some guy on the internet called me an asshole. I couldn't tell Francis to lighten up because it's true.

For some reason, Amazon decided to tie addresses to payment methods, so when I opted to use an older credit card to make some purchases, they all got shipped to an old address and I didn't notice until they'd already shipped because Amazon's turnaround time is apparently 14 seconds. Now I have to drive across town multiple times on different days to go fetch my stuff and hope that they don't opt to return it as "undeliverable." And I don't actually know if the 90 pound box with a new TV stand will fit in my tiny hatchback.

On the plus side, I did get confirmation of the white glove delivery of my new TV at the correct address on Christmas Eve. Which will probably prompt my next first world problem, "Rudolph is life-size and it terrifies my daughter."

Time Warner is raising the modem fee: AGAIN. Went from nothing to $4 a year ago. Then it was $6 a few months later. Now they want $8 a month for it. It's the same damn cheap little bare bones minimalist made in china box for ever increasing amounts of money. Yet the cheapest modem on their approved list is an elaborate Motorola $50 thing that's infinitely more elaborate. Never the less, even though I don't know the first thing about modems and routers other than how to plug them in, I may finally have to bite the bullet and finally buy one and figure it out.

I'm just afraid even if I get all the configuring right they're going to give me hell every step of the way. Hour long phone calls on hold, rude reps that don't know what they're talking about, no more tech support. I wouldn't be surprised if they "mysteriously" start charging me the modem fee again a couple months in unless I stay right on top of it. All kinds of bullshit. No alternatives for internet, naturally. They're also going to start charging a $2.75 "just because" sports charge for all the sports I don't watch on my $12 basic cable. Maybe I'll Just cut the cord.

But all these issues will get straightened out once their mega merger with Comcast completes and they maximize their efficiency and effectiveness for enhancing my customer experience, right?
