what filesystem to use for external drive...

I have been a windows only guy for a long time, but am thinking of going over to the dark side. Even if I don't, my brothers have macbooks, so I would like by external drive to work with their comps as well.

I used to have Fat32 on a drive, but that couldn't handle files over a couple of gigs....can OSX write to NTFS yet?

What do you guys use?

thanks!

OSX can't write to NTFS officially, but there is MACFuse. I can't recommend MacDrive either since it's wonky at times. FAT32 is the only thing I can see but you run into the issue with files >2GB.
