What fields of work get the most questions asked by others

...besides the IT/computer field? I'm not aware of any other field that comes close to this one. Your friend's sister's uncle's fiance' has no qualms about asking you why her computer won't bootup. I suppose doctors and lawyers get a decent number of questions, but I'd like to think that most people would only ask someone they're close with these questions. I'm sure there's some major fields I'm just not thinking about right now.

Yeah I'm sure the medical questions, but the IT people and docs/physician ratio ain't exactly 1:1. Automotive technicians either.

True, but I'm thinking more along the lines of, if you just met someone, and said you're in the IT field, there's a decent chance that this person you just met might say something like "Oh, since you're a network manager and deal with computers, perhaps you can help me..."

If a doctor met someone new, depending on the age of the person, I can see them maybe still asking for advice. Hell anandtechers do it all the time here. 😀 'course we're all doctors on the internet.

You should have put it that way the first time. 😉

Cell phone techs - my buddy did this for a while, and quit, because he couldn't stand people asking for favors

Carpenters - another friend of mine does this, and people ask him to help them with their weekend projects all of the time. He only helps me, because he and his wife are computer illiterate. I'd say its an even trade.

Yeah I know. I couldn't figure how to word the damn thing in one short sentence. I guess I'll just make this two threads in one!

Teachers.
In addition to education related questions, teachers get asked "can I go to the bathroom?" "Can I get a drink of water?" "Can I go to the nurse?" farrrrrrrr too many times.
