Development is beginning on the next version of Fox302.com. It's going to be new from the ground up. If you have any feature requests, get them in now. 🙂

look at google's popularity for design advice, people prefer fast loading and simplistic interfaces to fancy eye-candy that takes forever.

Not to say that you should leave features out. But make sure it loads fast.

Upload a .ZIP file with picture files within. Server automatically unzips and adds the files within to your dir.

ability to resize in browser.

file renaming, and being able to browse all of someone's pics.

simple and fast 🙂

Step 1: Look at pbase.
Step 2: Copy
Enjoy!

In addition to the above and copying pbase...

Stay as a "for free" site. 😉
Hotlinking would be nice (but is bandwidth intensive for the servers).
Resize/rotate/crop online pictures (not neccessary but nice, will slow down servers as well 🙁 ).
EXIF information is good. 🙂
Simple Interface.
Batch Renames.
Search Feature.
"Get Similar" Feature. (Click on a picture, and find similar pictures through fuzzy logic or matching faces/places).
Different browsing options (slideshow, X number of pics per page, all of pics on one page)
Built in Watermarking feature for users.

If I recall correctly, there's some opensource software that already does most of what I listed. 😉

I had this functionality in the past, but no one used it.

Support for SWF files.

I'm planning on adding support for SVG files. I don't know about the implications of flash with it's built-in scripting and proprietary format. For instance - how does one create a thumbnail of a flash animation?

email alerts based on user-specified text in the file name... so I will immediately know when new Alba pics are uploaded.

Two choices.

1. Extract first 'frame"
2. Show a generic Flash logo.

I think generic flash logo would be best
