Planning on getting this burner tomorrow, unless you someone can tell me that it's missing an important feature of some sort. Why did i choose this one? Simple - it's available at my local computer store for a price that's lower than anything i could find on Pricewatch. I checked out a few reviews, and all of them give it over 4/5.

the name plextor on the side of the box is always a compelling feature for me.

The LG's are good drives. I've built systems for three people with them. Ranging from 8x-16x-24x. All work perfectly and have burned hundreds of CD's. I pretty much look at buffer size and what ever type of burn proof they have. I might be replacing my 10x acer with a 24x lite-on today for 64 and change after tax. I would get the LG if I could find it local.

just fyi, justwrite will work just as well as burnproof, so don't freak if it only has justwrite.

I would buy a TDK VeloCD instead, I believe they come with Burn Proof technology, look cooler and usually come with a LEGAL REGISTERED version of Nero CD-RW software.
