What feature of Windows 10 pins all 12T of a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, during monitor sleep mode?

Just wondering.

I normally crunch BOINC on my rig, but a few times, I've set it to not get any new tasks, such that it finishes what it was crunching on, and then I've woken up the monitor, and BOINC shows no crunching tasks, but Task Manager shows ALL 12 threads running at 100%, then dropping down to zero once I moved the mouse.

What facility of Windows 10 would do this?

Or do I have coin-mining malware on this rig? (In which case, I blame these forums specifically for pushing malware-laden ads, because I basically don't surf anywhere else, and these forums HAVE apparently been serving up malware-laden ads to android devices.)

Edit: The reason that I ask this is, I've also had some command-prompt Windows flash up on my desktop, after a reboot, once. Whether this is due to some sort of Windows Update or Driver Update, I have no idea. But I remember getting 0wn3d by malware once in XP after I got home from vaca. and used my PC without doing updates first, had to reformat. Back then, though, malware was a lot more obvious, less subtle, less weaponized, less slick.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that my PC has a keystroke logger installed too.

The command-prompt pop-ups are a known issue. The fixed is in the current Windows 10 preview release. It may be in the fall update, but I am not 100% on that.

The CPU-usage thing is hard to say without some system details that you may or may not want to share. I think the auto disk defrag for spinners will still run during idle times; your AV may have a similar approach; just as a couple examples. You might find something in task sheduler for that one.
