Yawn....don't blame McDonald's for this. Fast food didn't male them fat, their lazy attitudes, and lack of self control/motivation made them fat.

more like lack of exercise.

Good luck burning off 3,000 or 4,000 calories daily with 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Most people have no idea what their calorie intake is from fastfood, or their sodium intake. My wife and I rarely eat at sonic anymore, due to the amount of sodium, calories, and their lack of a heart healthy menu selection.

Exactly, fast food didn't make them fat, their lack of movement did. You can get just as fat if your home cooking is fatty as well.

Do the math, there are only X amount of calories you can burn off with 30 - 60 minutes of exercise.

A big mac meal contains approximately 1,300 calories. Unless you eat one three times a day you're not going to hit 4,000 calories. Assuming some thought was actually put into anything, you can eat a 600 calorie breakfast and dinner, and a 1,300 calorie meal for lunch and be roughly at 2,500.

Not saying it's good by any means, but you can still work that off (with proper exercise).

Bottom line is that you can still cram high-calorie food into your body, you just need to offset it somehow. Lots of people on a huge bulk eat fast food to get extra calories without spending a fortune.

Most people do not eat just the bic mac - add a large fries and a 32 ounce coke to that.

What is your calorie intake for the meal then?

EDIT

http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/nutritionexchange/nutritionfacts.pdf

Big mac - 540 calories
large fires 500 calories
large coke 310 calories

So that estimated 1,300 calories is for the whole meal.

Have you seen a big mac lately? Its small. I know people that will eat 2 at a time.

meh, I bike commute and race from March to December. During that time I could eat a chipotle burrito or fast food four times a day if I wanted to and not gain a pound. However, most people don't have 4 hours a day to exercise. With these fatties it's mostly just lack of will.
