i'm new to amd cpu's, and so i don't really know what i should use to cool this sucka. i'll be getting the msi k7tpro2a. which cooler should i get? i don't want anything too drastic, something along the 20 dollar range seems okay to me. so far i have about 4, 3 inch fans (2 in front, one in back, one on video card), PS fan, and a 3-fan hard drive cooler. all i basically need is a heatsink and fan. soooo, which cooler shall it be?

right now i have a globalwin fep32 i believe, with the 80mm fan addon. will that work on the socket A? is it good enough?

The globalwin fop32-1 should be good enough, as long as the fan is good enough. I'm running my Duron 800 at 1050mhz with at around 40-41*C with my Alpha PAL6035 using Sunon 23cfm 60mm fan and arctic silver. No case cooling. Either the PAL6035, or your globalwin would be perfect for the job.

I use a Cooler Master DP5-6H11 to keep my Duron 700 stable at 1083MHz. CPU temp hovers around 38C.

i'm guessin that duron/tbirds run a lot hotter than their intel counterparts? so far i haven't seen people speak of their amd cpus running at 30-32 Degree range.
