What fan do you use on your taisol heatsink?

a 80mm panaflo with a fan guard. Use the four screw to from the taisol to hold the fan guard in place. work nicely. I'm using the stock fan on the side. idle at around 40-44 depending on the weather.

Something needs to be cleared up, slapping an 80mm fan on a heatsink will not always give better performance, due to the fact that there is a bigger dead spot over the CPU die, since the motor is bigger. Cyke138 has a decent idea since he incorporated a side fan, but I think it would be better off without the 80mm. I myself am using 2 40mm fans side by side on top of my taisol, and it cools around 5-7 degrees cooler then the stock fan, and it's quieter.

mike: How do you mount the fans? How powerful are those 40mm fans? Thanks.

I ran My Taisol with 2 YS-tech 60's side by side and got great results as well. I just recently Moved one to the side to pull air out to the back and the other is on top pushing in. seems to work a liil better for the cpu die itself. I did lose a lil chipset cooling tho as a result on one YS-tech not hanging over the side anymore.

The fans I am using are really little and light and don't have a lot of power, so I just screwed them onto the top. The screws squeeze between two of the fins and it holds it there good enough. I am not sure what the CFM on these are, they are pretyy weak, but still cool well.

I'm also using a Y.S. Tech fan. It is louder than the stock Taisol delta fan.

I experimented with a 60-80mm adapter, but I didn't like my temp results. It was quiter, but my temp did go up a few degrees. With an overclocked system in very hot weather, those few degrees can be very important.

Does the stock taisol fan not work properly? I just bought one that is being shipped and would hate to now have to find another fan! :disgust: If the stock fan is not all that great, will thermal compound help out?

Yep, I also use Delta 7K fan on my Taisol and I got 4-5C temp decrease from stock 21CFM fan.

The stock fan on the taisol is a low profile delta, it works great, but is only rated at 21CFM which isn't much, if you want the heatsink to be cooler you need a bigger, or more fans.

What is the noise difference when getting a bigger fan? I have no idea how loud the stock fan will be, but noise is still going to be an issue. When you say more fans, do you mean in the case or on the heatsink? I think I read somewhere that someone had two fans on the heatsink.
