I'm looking to get some 4.1 or 5.1 speakers for my laptop and want to get an external sound card to get true surround sound. What external sound cards do you guys think I should look at? Thanks in advance.

Look into the Extigy. (It seems like it's hit or miss).

I didn't know what else to look at besides the Extigy. If you say it's a miss, what are my other options?
Which one is that then?Originally posted by: Talon02
The Hercules one ROCKS!

There isn't one. He probably thinks that the GTXP is an external soundcard which it's not. It just has a breakout box. It's also not that great since it doesn't have ADCs in the breakout box and sends its analogue signal all the way back to the board before being digitized. It's a bad design. It also can't handle as many streams as the competition and falls flat on its face in modern games such as UT2K3 and NOLF2.
