What experiences have you had with refurbished products?

I finally had my heart set on a Radeon X800XL for $249 from monarchcomputer. But today when I was gonna order it the price magically jumped to $276 overnight!

DAMN!

$276 is too much, as I really only wanted to spend $163 for a 6600GT.

Newegg has a refurbished Radeon X800XL for $232

Have any of you guys bought refurbished products?? Am I buying garbage??

i bought some refurb ram from them, bad, had to rma it, bought a refurb hdd from them - still working 1yr later...

I've had good luck with refurb stuff in general.

Most of the refurbs in PC parts I've had are video cards, and they were all fine. These were not from NewEgg, they were from another place, it's gone now, and I can't get the name to pop into my head. They were in Computer Shopper all the time.

I had a refurb Dell 19" monitor for about 5 years, that I just replaced with a 17" LCD about six months ago. Nothing wrong with it, just my eyes are getting old. I have bought refurb stereo equipment, VCRs, laptops, radios, etc, and I think the only problem I had was with one CD player that worked fine, except the drawer wouldn't open by itself. You had to help it a little. I RMA'ed it and the replacement is nearly 15 years old and still works and looks new.
