What exactly is the difference between a catpult and a trebuchet?

I thought catapults work with spring action, and trebuchets work with a counterweight.

Looks great! I love how you accentuated it with bursts of passionate red and orange! ;)

Trebuchets are more powerful than catapults of similar size, when set up properly.

In high school senior year we had to build a catapult and try to hit our teacher from 30ft away with an egg. My team built ours out of scraps of wood and old nails, we called it the shady-pult. Needless to say, we hit the teacher on the top of the head, bypassing her facemask, and getting egg all over in her hair :) We were the class heros, and we received a 100% for hitting out target!
