This has bothered me considerably since trying to Google "auto" on anything related to a vehicle or transmission obviously is going to have staggering results aimed towards the words "automobile" and "automatic transmission". I remember checking the owner manual when I bought my truck in 07 and never saw an explanation listed.
Obviously I'd venture to guess that the "Auto" setting is 2wd with the front differential engaging when slippage is detected, but I'd love some clarification - especially clarification on if the Auto setting is safe to use all year around, on dry pavement, etc.
Clarification?
