What exactly is Pat Robertson praying for?

Come on Caddy, I hope you weren't refering to me with that hate stuff. I thought all Christians were a worthless bunch of sinners in need of redemption. I thought that was the whole idea behind faith in the collection plate. Were'd I go wrong?

True Christianity is not based on the collection plate. It is based on Faith in God and his laws. Making a mockery of a Christian's prayer is wrong no matter how "fundy" he is. It is equally wrong to mock tithing. ...If you are a Christian that is.😉

I hope you're joking w/ your winky-wink and all. Simply being Christian doesn't make you immune to mockery. In my book, it makes you even more of a target 😉

Does Bush tithe? A good friend that loves Bush's proselytizing essentially voted for him b/c he was so committed to the Faith (plus they occupy the top bracket). I know Bush didn't give 10% when he received a windfall from the taxpayers of Arlington, TX.

The amounts of federal money he's directed towards the well-being of the poor in America would surely earn him mad credits at the Pearly Gates.

On the international front, I forget how much his budget proposed for Afghanistan for fiscal 2003 . . . oh now I remember, ZERO.

No, I wasn't joking. If you are a Christian, you shouldn't be mocking prayer or tithing. The wink was meant to make that last statement "non-judgemental" of those who may not be Christians. I don't know if people on here are Christian or not - so what I said MAY not apply to everyone.

So, if you aren't a Christian, then it's OK to mock? I just want to make sure I get the rules straight here...

Didn't say that😉 And I'm not going to condemn people because they aren't Christians. Christians are supposed to not be irreverant because that is their faith. Those who have a different faith, or no faith at all, may not hold themselves to Christian ideals. Christians are supposed to help their fellow Christian brothers keep the faith and not fall.
That is all I'm going to say because I'm not going to get into a religious fight here. I don't like those who try to impose their religious beliefs on me and I try not to do the same.

My original comment still stands though. It seems like there is alot of hate in this forum.

Oh... well I guess I break that rule every time someone talks about the brand spanking new church and all the parking and picnic facilities..... Only cost 15 million and no mortgage.. all from the tithes of the members... Then they step over the homeless, scoff at the hungry, align with the hypocrite, and claim title to "His" true Church......
Jesus don't need nor want all the trappings... people do.... and I'd think Jesus would want the $ spent on the poor and not on the rich..... or... See me ...I'm giving all this money to feed the poor.... for them the reward... they already have gotten it..
Let the Catholic Church sell ALL its wealth and feed the poor... cloth the naked... when they have done this... only then should they seek to tell anyone how to live...

I think it simply mirrors the real world, where hatred between religions (or between those who are religious and those who are not) is the cause of much suffering and even death...

ROTF
I wish I could draw a balloon in there with the words, "Oh sh!t, this one's gonna hurt!"

Sorry you see hate, Caddy, though I still don't know if you refer to me. As a liberal my first impulse when I run into some turd like Pat Robertson who tries getting some mass prayer to visit retirement on the sick and ill, is to hit him with a flower. But it was only after I mastered that violent impulse that I decided to post exactly what I see. I'm sure God doesn't hate him either but I bet he crisps his ass all the same. I do understand your wish, though, to pay true Christianity respect. I can't, however, see it having much to do with the tithe. And for Robertson I think that's all it is, plus sublimated hate. Sorry but to me he looks like a really sad case. To me religion is a door to reality that opens for very few. That happens because there is so little real faith. Part of the reason is slime like Robertson who have made of Christianity and of gullible Christians a mockery and a bunch of chumps. He perverts Christians and turns the intelligent away from a real path. He's a piece of crap. I don't hate him, I just want to destroy everything he stands for.
