What exactly is "appropriate attire" for a club?

Someone just sent me a link to the place we are going for happy hour and then a club tonight..and all it says under dress code is "appropriate attire"?? Does that mean a bunch of freaks dressed all in black. WTF is appropriate attire?

I wish people would write usefull descriptions on things.

basically appropriate attire means don't look like crap.

Depends on what club you're going to, but usually most clubs that have dress codes mean:

No Jeans, No T-Shirts, No Caps (Baseball, bandanas, net).

You must wear either slacks or Khaki, and you'll have to wear a collared shirt. Some place even make you tuck your shirts in, but you can take it back out once you're inside.

Appropriate attire for the club depends on the club.


Usually crappy sneakers won't get in....

ragged jeans at all, and possibly no jeans even

not cutoff shirts or wife beaters

No bandanas, gang wear

and on top of that you have to match sort of what the club is wearing....

An Armani suit will get you in the Martini club no problem....however, the trance club will more than likely not let you in.

For me: Black slacks, black Docs, blue italian silk shirt.

Unless the club is dead, then you can get in with anything

exxactly. my female friends flirt their way in for free.

anyway... sometimes those dresscodes are wack... i get there and all these people are wearing jeans and a shirt... guess it depends if you're in there to meet girls or not.
