I'm curious as to what in the registry changes when you run safedisc4hide because I can no longer run Diablo II and I'm almost positive that this is what did it. I built a new rig about 10 days ago and install D2 from the install files downloadable at the Blizzard website. It ran fine when I did a test run. Fast forward to tonight, when I felt like playing, and now I'm getting an error from Bnet saying it can't properly identify my version, even though I just did a fresh install using their installer again. I realize this sounds like it might belong in the gaming forum but my problem I feel is related to sd4hide, NOT D2. Some buddies and I were planning on playing and I've gotta figure out how to fix this problem (which I'm assuming is with the registry) before that can happen so any help is appreciated.

From the information I can find on sd4hide, the only purpose of the program is to fool pirated games into thinking that you have a legitimate CD/DVD. Based on this, I would say that the solution is to stop pirating games and uninstall sd4hide so that legal games (like the Diablo 2 download from Blizzard and games that you actually purchased) will work properly.

If I'm wrong in my assumption and you have a valid reason to use the program, then I apologize, but almost every search result for sd4hide is in reference to using it with pirated software.

Yes, that's what I find as well. Searching for 'sd4hide' on google leads me to know that it's main help is in running pirated copies of games. It helps in running from the images of games also from the HDD.

Install your sd. software onto a virtual machine and using a 3rd party tool to monitor what's being tweaked on the VM OS, manually adjust for yourself on your primary PC what reg files were created and touched, to get things rollin' in your direction.
