You guys are making me hungry.

I love middle eastern food.

I love all the specialty(Americanized) hummus(es) too.

Well everyone else has already described it, but yeah, a grainy/slightly nutty hushpuppy is a good description. I like it myself, I don't have it much, but if anyone offered me a pita stuffed with falafel I'd most definitely eat it.

to the original poster. Just go get one. If you are worried, just order 1 falafel by itself, that way you don't have to commit to a whole sandwich containing 2-3 falafels. If you like it, get more, if you don't don't.

I mean you might not like it, but it probably won't gross you out. At least you aren't trying to find out what monkey brains taste like.

Yup, Falafel is Falafel. And I like it for that matter. Try some!

I love falafel and hummus, so order it. Come on, if you're not adventurous enough not to order a falafel what is wrong with you?! :)

Well said! It's not like the ingredients are all that exotic.

All this talk got me craving one myself. You must have had a lousy one if you didn't like. Mmmmm, Amir's on Broadway around W 114th... yum!
