Question What EVGA Gold 550w power supply is better?

I have two options the
EVGA SuperNOVA 550 Ga, 80 Plus Gold 550W, Fully Modular
EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3, 80 Plus Gold 550W, Fully Modular

If those are the only two choices, I'd personally go with Super Flower made G3 series (I assume Super Flower still makes G2 and G3 units for them).

I don't think I've ever seen a review on the GA from any legitimate hardware review site. On paper it looks good, but without testing it's hard to say how good/mediocre/bad it is.

On a side note, EVGA has way too many different models (in the same performance/price categories), and I have no idea why they do that. After they moved away from using Super Flower for their performance models, they went absolutely crazy with numerous new model releases.

I got both. I could not decide. $39.99 each. They will sit on the shelf in my garage until needed.

As far as I can tell from a 650W version review, the G3's fan spins up quicker than needed. Maybe the GA would be better?

I also bought one of those 550 GA Gold Fully Modular unit just as a backup. Couldn't beat it for $39
