What ever happened with all those angry Cyberrebate people?

I'm just curious... I lost out on $40 bucks from them, so I wasn't too mad, because I did get a bunch of useless crap before that. I know there were some people who had invested thousands, and were sueing Cyberrebates. Did they ever get any of their money back?

they probably all lost their appeals and are still crying that somehow the credit card companies owe them money for being stupid

I'm just going from (fuzzy) memory, but I believe some people did get reimbursed by their credit card issuers, but many more did not. The ones that managed to return their items to Cyberrebate got reimbursed, but the ones who based their claims solely on not getting the rebate didn't.

yeah i laugh at the idiots that tried to put the blame on the credit card companies. No way should the credit card companies be responsible. The purchaser paid the full price (stupid as it was) and they received the item. I dont see how anyone could have won a suit over this

I lost $0 because I never purchased any overpriced CyberRebate merchandise.

This is the reason I never purchased anything from them. They offered outstanding rebates, but had markups that amounted to 100% over stores without rebates in some instances. Pay twice the amount to be reimbursed later, no thanks.

I bought the same clock! Which didn't even work, BTW. 'course I was only out $2, cuz I had a $10 coupon. :)

The story is tooo long to tell, but I got out of it before it was too late. The warning sign was there. I had to write them a legal letter the last time I sent in a rebate in order to get them to send my rebate in a timely fashion. And after that, I swore never again to use them. I found them when they were known as The Rebate Company(?). They had so little then, but I was curious and tried their high priced items. Then a transition took place before I ever got my rebate. They became CyberRebate. They claimed that the information from The Rebate Co. was not available for them. I had to write them over and over and over because each time they would only answer one question. I screamed at them the last time and expressed myself very formally. They finally took care of everything and profusely apologised. They promptly sent cheques. Then came the next set of rebates that they delayed disbursement. When everything was taken care of, I stopped making purchases there. It wasn't too long before the business failed. I kept giving thanks, as everything happens for good. If they had treated me as a customer correctly the first time, I would have purchased more from them, in spite of how overpriced the items were.
