Question What ever happened to these Y.S. Tech fans.

The only time I ever got excited about fans. Waited and waited for them to be the next big thing. Then poof. They were gone.

Those are pretty interesting as in fin geometry, but there are better.
It would probably be close to a noctua NF-P or NF-S which we do not use because they tend to make a woosh noise.

Were those the ones with the motor on the outside of the fan rather than in the hub? The reason they didn't catch on is that the area taken by the hub is small, with low linear velocity, so the improvement in airflow from replacing it with longer fan blades is very small. On the other hand, the cost of the huge motor and bearing is high.

That would be the ones...had a hard time getting the two I have. Really hoped they would catch on. Only really new design with fans at the time.
At that paticular time I also thought that the solid copper heat sinks were the only way to fly. Looked for a long time to replace one of the Swiftech's with the solid copper base and the knurled aluminum pins.

Now all that stuff just sits in a Abit IP35 Pro Off Limits motherboard box.
