You can get pretty good deals direct from Netgear, even after you toss in $10-$15 for shipping. Ebay is another possibility.

A lot of the hpna devices have been discontinued. Wireless, of course, took over a lot of the market in the last year. I suspect a lot of remaining hpna sales are being made by dsl companies who include the 2wire homeportal as an option. Hpna might come back when/if the much faster hpna 3.0 becomes available. You can get more info at http://www.homepna.org/.

http://www.shentech.com carries discontinued 3com line USB and PCI cards...cheapest around...
$9 for a PCI card, $15 for a USB.

Netgear has the ethernet to phoneline bridge for $80 + $12.30 shipping, which can be pricematched to staples who carries it for $185, comes to $83.02 before taxes. Came to $88 after tax for me (6% PA).

Uh i read at www.homepna.org that HPNA 3.0 was to be complete by Q4 2002 and products should be seen in "early 2003." HPNA 3.0 runs at 128mbps...so that may be why HPNA 2.0 items are droppin off the market...dunno man...ive had no problem locating HPNA cards...

The HomePNA 3.0 specification is scheduled for completion by Q4 2002. Silicon products supporting adapters and bridges are expected from multiple vendors in early 2003.

It might pick back up. Some broadband providers are using HPNA for "home networking" . My guess is that they picked HPNA over wireless or powerline because it's cheaper.

Broadband Service Providers Offer HomePNA based Home Networking Services
Somehow 2wire worked out all these deals with the dsl companies. I always wonder if the phoneline market died or just got stolen by 2wire and the dsl companies. Of course, a lot of homes may have hpna capability and not actually use it.
