I haven't seen ads for 10-10 numbers in a while. You know, 'Dial 10-10-220 and talk for 20 minutes for just a buck' . Did all these companies finally go out of business? How did they work, anyways?
 
maybe they found out that carrot top and every other actor in those phone commericals arent funny....its about time too

Why do that when you can ditch you entire POTS line for VoIP and call anywhere in the US and Canada for free?
 
The funniest thing about Carrot Top is that people continue to fund his career. They need to stop hiring him so he'll die in a van of starvation like Jewel should have....I mean, CT only weighs about 50 pounds. I'd say 98% of ATOT members could kick his ass without trying. The other 2% are just pathetic. 😉

you'd be surprised...i saw the dude a few times at some shows, he's jacked. he's obviously a tool, but he must have worked out a lot.

I guess all the has-been actors/comedians (Arsenio Hall, anyone?) finally died off, so they don't have anyone desperate or stupid enough to do those commercials anymore. 😛

The call was $1 for UP TO 20 minutes (I guess it's down to 15 minutes now), meaning that if you call and get a machine, wrong number, person isn't home, only can talk for 2 min, etc, it still costs $1 for the whole call.

Their business model seems to be based mostly on hedging that enough people will get screwed by short calls or long calls to offset the ones that make cost-effective calls.
