What Equipment Do I Need To View Security Cameras on a Computer?

I have a client that has a 7500sq home, and has security cameras all over his mini mansion. He has a small TV in the kitchen area that displays the cameras. Anyways the security system goes through what looks like regular TV cable. He just has a certian channel he flips to to watch the security cams.

Anyways I'm building him another office computer and he wants to be able to view the cameras through his PC. He has a friend that has done this to his PC and now he's interested.

Anyways I told him that I'd look into it and hook up his PC with the same functions. So anyways I'm just wondering if all I'll need is like a TV Tuner card, or is there maybe something else I may need?

If someone has some ideas, please post it here. Thanks and hope that all makes sense, just woke up not too long ago. ;)

yeah you will need some sort of capture card and software to along with it. There are so many ranging from TV tuner cards to ones designed specifically for security camera systems.
If a basic capture card will do, maybe some video card with vivo will get the job done.

Did a quick search and looks like the cheap remote DVI cards are $250.

I don't think a vivo card would work since the connection I believe he needs is a RGB. But if a regular TV tuner would work, that would be great.

Hopefully someone knows, and I'll try and ask some people around tomorrow; gotta head to work.

If the signal comes in split already (multiple cameras/one screen) any tv tuner will work.
