I'm just now starting to take interest into the show. Seems a lot better now than it did a few episodes into season 1 when I quit watching. What episodes are must-see so I know what is happening in the 'big picture' as it is now in season 3?

Season 3 is a big break from Seasons 1+2. Seasons 1+2 are mostly standalone, with some minor story arcs. Season 3 appears to be one large story arc. Nice to see people are taking interest, it's a good sign for UPN.

Heres my opinion (out of many, of course) of whats important:

* Means good episodes or episodes that help carry a piece of the story (whether by plot or character development).

1x01, 1x02 Broken Bow
1x07 The Andorian Incident
* 1x08 Breaking the Ice
1x11 Cold Front
* 1x12 Silent Enemy
1x15 Shadows of P'Jem
* 1x17 Fusion
* 1x23 Fallen Hero
1x26 Shockwave P1
2x01 Shockwave P2
* 2x02 Carbon Creek
* 2x03 Minefield
* 2x04 Dead Stop
* 2x14 Stigma
2x15 Cease Fire
2x16 Future Tense
2x19 Judgement
* 2x22 Cogenitor
* 2x23 Regeneration
* 2x25 Bounty
2x26 The Expanse

I'm tired, so I'll start off by listing the episodes that develop the Suliban subplot: (I may have missed some)
1x01 - Broken Arrow
1x11 - Cold Front
1x26 - Shockwave
2x01 - Shockwave, Part II
2x16 - Future Tense
2x26 - The Expanse

but you really need to see most of them to see how things are interconnected

EDIT: or I'll just let dexvx tell you what you should watch.

Here's my suggestions. If I made a comment, then it means you should probably see it. There is an ongoing sequence of events with the Andorians, Klingons, and Vulcans so any episode centered around them should be watched.

First season:

Broken Bow -- not a great episode by any means, but any first episode should be seen.

Fight or Flight -- skip it.

Strange new world -- skip it.

Unexpected -- never saw it so I don't know.

Terra Nova -- skip it.

Andorian incident -- a must see, as there is a continuing Andorian storyline.

Breaking the ice -- skip it.

Civilization -- skip it.

Fortunate Son -- skip it.

Cold Front -- sets the whole future temporal war thing.

Silent Enemy -- has some good character development so maybe worth watching.

Dear Doctor -- good episode showcasing Billingsley's (Phlox) incredible acting skills.

Sleeping Dogs -- First time aboard a Klingon ship, sets tone for future Klingon aggression.

Shadows of P'Jem -- Andorian episode, good one. Sets tone for increased Vulcan-Earth tension.

Shuttlepod One -- skip it.

Fusion -- an OK episode if you want to see what Vulcans were like pre-Spock days.

Rogue Planet -- skip it.

Acquisition -- Ferengi episode. Yes, they aren't supposed to be known about until the 24th century but the episode covers that twist.

Oasis -- Odo episode, well OK, not Odo but Rene Aubujornois (sp?) is in it. He was supposed to be in more episodes but it never happened, don't know why.

Detained -- Suliban episode, future episodes make reference to this episode so you should watch it.

Vox Sola -- skip it.

Fallen hero -- vulcan episode, not that great, not important.

Desert Crossing -- Good episode, incredible character development between Archer and Trip.

Two days & two nights -- skip it.

Shockwave -- Season finale, always worth watching these.

Season 2:

Shockwave II -- season opener, watch it.

Carbon Creek -- meant as comedy relief, not a serious episode.

Minefield -- Good solid episode introducing us to Romulans

Dead Stop -- Another good episode, Borg?

Night in Sickbay -- skip it.

Marauders -- Good episode, klingon hostilities.

Seventh -- Not bad, action packaged episode!

Communicator -- skip it.

Singularity -- skip it.

Vanishing point -- skip it.

Precious Cargo -- skip it.

Catwalk -- pretty good episode from what I can remember.

Dawn -- Skip it.

Stigma -- another Vulcan diplomacy episode, very slow moving episode but I guess you'll need to watch it to understand the whole vulcan issue.

Cease Fire -- another Andorian episode.

Future Tense -- Great episode, freaky encounter with Tholians.

Canamar -- Another rare good one.

Crossing -- skip it.

Judgment -- Klingon episode, one of the best episodes.

Horizon -- Good episode as it shows life aboard a cargo ship.

Breach -- skip it.

Cogenitor -- skip it.

Regeneration -- Borg episode.

First Flight -- good episode only because it goes into the past, during the test days of Enterprise.

Bounty -- another Klingon episode.

Expanse -- season ender.

Out of curiosity, what is the justification for putitng *the borg*, aka the destroyer of 24th-century starfleet.....into the 22nd century?

Did you see First Contact when the borg went back in time to try and stop Zephram Cochran's first flight?

BTW, I have every episode of Enterprise aired to date as a VCD-ready MPG file if someone should need them.

I haven't seen it in many years. I'll have to review it. Obviously i'm not up with it, although I have seen more than 2/3 of TNG episodes.

That episode is the epitomy of flame wars.

Some say it makes Picard look like a lazy fool and kills continuity.

Others (like me) say its an awesome example of a paradox. The Borg go back in time to destroy humanity, but are stopped in the past. By a 22nd century expedition, the few survivors are revived and send a message to the Borg in their time period, who wont receive it for another 200 years (due to the distance of their homeworld). This sets up for a Borg invasion in the 24th century and the cycle begins again.

To sum it up, the Borg invade in the 24th century because they received a message from themselves who are actually part of the invasion that had already begun.
