I almost have my system picked out and ready to order. Is there any little things like cleaners, tools, etc. that I need?

Parts all ready to order:

p4 1.6a
balkin 36 pc tool set
Arctic Silver NEW Premium Silver Polysynthetic Thermal Compound
santa cruz
512 MB 8 device Samsung RDRAM (two 256 modules)
40 GB western digital hard drive
mitsumi floppy drive
case (includes screws, psu, and some cables)
iiyama vision master pro 452
mitsumi or plextor CD-RW
standard ps2 keyboard and mouse


Thats all I can think of. I already have a p4t-e with ICS clock gens. I have not decided on a good video card that will last a while. Is anything missing? What about a video card, any recommendations?

Hmmm... it all depend on what you plan to do with that video card. If you just want it for general use, try a GeForce 2 or something. If you plan to use plenty of games, go with a GeForce 3 Ti 500, or a ATI Raedon 8500. All of those are pretty damn good cards. As for how long they last, just pick a company you trust the most. 😛

I kinda would like to be able to play games but I can't say I play any now, partly due to the fact that my current system cant handle any. I like the Radeon 8500, but what about drivers are they getting any better?

what OS are you using right now? My freind is running WinXP and his card runs great, so i guess the drivers are better.

Right now I am running windows 95 but I plan on running Linux and Win XP Pro on my new system.
