What else can one say about a fine case and the ease of purchasing from NewEgg? I purchased this ?SONATA? case some months ago and began my purchase of what I would install to build my first computer at the ripe old age of 71. The parts arrived; the case went together with all parts fitting well, and it was easy to install. I just powered it up, installed all of the software, and Windows XP and Office Premium slipped in as if they had banana peal shoe souls. My home AC makes more noise than this computer and the case runs cool enough to cool my home. I?m so happy I could kiss all the old women around me.

My first system build consists of:

ANTEC ?SONATA? Case with True 380W PS
AMD Athlon XP 2700+ ?Thoroughbred? 2.17GHz Processor
ASUS "A7N8X-X" nForce2 400 Chipset Motherboard Socket A
Two Corsair Value Select 184 Pin 512MB DDR 400 PC-3200
Seagate 80GB 7200RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive
ASUS nVIDIA GeForce FX5200 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 64-bit
Zonet V.92 56K PCI Data/Fax Modem
Samsung 1.44MB 3.5inch Floppy Disk Drive,
Lite-On 52X32X52X16 Combo Drive
Logitech S-100 BLK 5 Watts RMS 2.0 Speaker
Windows XP Home
Office 2000 premium
Kaspersky Personal Security Suite

Way to go! Not only do you have the satisfaction of knowing you have quality components built properly, but if something does go wrong you have the knowledge to troubleshoot it and repair it by yourself.

Thank you all for your kind words. You can?t imagine how relieved I was after hearing so many stories on problems with processors, motherboards, hard drives, and software.

If it were not for the help from the members here I received and reading what others have said, querying advice from members on hardware, and foremost the sticky threads on ?this-and-that? I don?t think I could have ever persevered the jitters in pushing on...one step at a time. Thank you for such a nice forum.

I do wish though, that others who have successfully done the same would come forward and give some positive feedback on their success; this is needed, let the new members...those that are wishing to build their first system...gain the confidence in trying. The hardest part is shaking off the jitters, pushing on, and naturally the cost.

I don?t know if I want to over clock this system yet. It seems fast enough for me. I might install a game, or so and give it a try.

My next build I will probably be using this list:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ ?Venice? 2.4GHz 1GHz FSB 64-bit 939 processor
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS EN6600/TD/128 Geforce 128MB 128-bit DDR PCI Express Video Card
Antec NEOPOWER 480 ATX 480W Power Supply ?The Best of the Best?

I haven?t decided on what case to install them in yet.

very nicely done; that Sonata is a great case isn't it?

If you really want to go for something spiffy, try something from Lian Li.

Thank you. I'll look into the Lian Li cases. NewEgg lists them and some of them seem to be quite nice, but a bit high in price. I think that is acceptable though, as long as everything goes in easy and stays cool and in place. Are the front hookups for USB and stuff easy to find where they go and are they configured better than the Sonatas are?
