Personnaly, I play the music that reflects the type of mood i'm in. It sort of enhances the feeling. But there are times when I hear a thumpin beat, and I just wanna get down and get jiggy wid' it. What does music do to/for you?

I could never quite take an interest in spanish music. I guess it's just not in my blood.

Whatever kind of mood I'm in, music takes it to the extremes. I try to stay away from music when I'm depressed.

No M00T, not just Spanish music.... any kind of music with a with a certain beat... although I have to say I think the modern latin groove is pretty cool. Santana's Supernatural is an awesome CD.

Something about latin beats though. My feet just don't seem to be able to move to them.

Depends on what music.
Iron Maiden, Helloween, Dio, Nightwish, Nirvana etc makes me feel harmony and makes it easier for me to think.

"Music" such as BSB and Britney pisses me off in a second and makes me wanna kill someone, preferably someone who helped produce the music in question.

I hate how a lot of people seem to say that music chooses your mood! (ie, Billy was depressed and upset because he listened to Slayer)

It's the exact opposite for me! I choose my music based upon my mood! On a warm Autumn day (like today) I drove home from work listening to The Waltons because it was the mood I was feeling. Sometimes I am in a rush to get home and I am feeling a little peeved so I put in some Pantera. When I study I tend to put some smooth instramental or classical music. When I feel a little 'jazzy' I put on some jazz ;). When I am sitting on the bus going to school on a rainy day I have something like The Smiths in there. When I am feeling giddy and am just having fun I throw in some They Might be Giants. Of course I am always in the mood for RUSH!!! ;)

same thing here...whatever the mood. If I'm seriously pissed off, playing some really hard music seems to take it away. Some days I just can't stand anything hard and I'll listen to some Dave Matthews or something...all depends on the mood.

Yeah, I don't know if anyone knows me well enough to realise how I am feeling based upon the music I am listening to though. For some people, listening to music is the same as wearing some name brand shoes. For example, I know many people that only listen to whatever is familiar and popular and thats all they will ever listen to. They think it is cool the keep up with whatever is popular... they think that I am just trying to be different, but that is not true. They say that song Minority by Green Day is my theme song but that is far from it... I don't choose to be a minority (in my music taste), but my choices in music has put me in as the minority.

As I am writing this I am listening to

Losing It (Rush)

hey I think I might make that my "thing"! Denilfloss has his songs that fit the thread, I'll just state what I am listening too! (I am always listening to something).

Depending on the music. Slow music gets me relaxed and thinking, while fast music makes me want to dance. :)

music is cool...keeps you depressed, gets you in a better mood...give me my Rio, a set of headphones, and a battery or two and I'm set for hours.

Music rules my life.... I rarely go anywhere without listening to something, whether it's on the radio, my Grados, or in my head... :) I get so far into it sometimes that I can actually listen to just a single track of a song (bass, melody, vocal, etc.), and mentally take a step back and watch (listen?) the track integrate into the song as a whole.... My musical tastes range from Mozart to Metallica and everything in between, and I'm always on the lookout for new stuff! :D

There is nothing in the world like being seriously depressed (which I seem to be more of these days) and getting out on the highway at 2am with some great (loud) techno... :) Cheap therapy indeed...

Mostly i use music to make my room feel more lived in. When it is off it seems like nothing is "alive". Cranking some Who, Townshend, Metalica, or what ever i have in my list just helps the room.

Does it make you horny baby, well does it? ~~ Anyway. Music has effect in the brain, also in the synapse area, where it shows extremely high brain activity.. except rap music, they actually have that as an adverse effect. Go figure.

Nothing better than some nice Pantera, Disturbed, etc. playing when you are sitting in rush hour traffic and can't move... Can just let the music blare with my thoughts of wanting to run everybody over so I can get home.... :|
