I own a sampling of the various entry levels.. Grado sr60s, Sennheiser hd280s and Shure e2cs. Favorites are the Senns. Listen to everything but country.

Bose Quiet Comfort 2s and some Sharp MD33s. Bother are sweet. The bose have a really nice, warm tone. I'm a bose Hi-Fi hater along with the rest of ya, but their headphones are golden.

Sony Fontopia MDR-EX51.

I had to pull them out and look, because I really don't care. They sound good to me and they were not expensive.

um, my variety headphones are as follows: Creative buds (came with my old creative player), Sony MDRV150, Panasonic wrap over the earphones, Pioneer over the head, full ear coverage phones (old, from the late 70s to early 80s I do believe)

I don't have teh model numbers, I'll try to get them when I gets home

edit: found one model number, the creative ones dont have a number on them, just say creative :(

Not to steal your thread or anything but I am also looking for a replacement for my 5.1 headphones. I wear them for long periods of time. Sometimes I might have the headphones on for more than 6 hours. My last pair broke after I dropped them and rolled over them with my office chair. So if you can recommend a decent set for $100-$200. They don't have to be 5.1 but I would prefer them to be. Comfortable for long periods is key here.

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD-497's that I used to use while I played games. I use like the cheapest pair of Sony headphones that they make for music.

Personally, I like the $5 pair of headphones better than the $50 497's. The $5 pair is more comfortable, and I don't have to worry about if I break them when I throw them in backpack.
