What earbuds would you recommend?

I currently have the Sony in-ear buds and they are nice, but I was curious if there was something I should upgrade to. I want something in-ear as I want to cancel out most of the office noise while I work.

Thanks in advance.

What's your budget?

My current pair is Shure SE420's. They're nice, but probably a lot more $$ than most sane people would spend on headphones.

Get a pair of Super.fi 5 Pro's, got mine 2 months ago and love them 10x more then my old Shures. Go to head-fi.org to learn more or just read the product reviews on Amazon. Price tag of ~$200 but their so worth it.

I have Ultimate Ears. The reason I bought them over others like Shure is because the buds are detachable from the wire, so if you ever get a break in the wire you can just pay a small fee to get a replacement wire without having to replace (or throw away) the entire thing. Likewise, if you break one ear bud you can just pay to have that single ear bud replaced. The sound isolation is phenomenal and are perfect for airplane rides. Office noise? You're not going to hear ANYTHING but your music.

The absolute best bang for your buck in the earbud category has to be Koss Plugs. It's amazing what sub-$20.00 pair can sound like. Check out a ton of good user reviews in the Hot Deals section of FW.

consider if the altec lansing im716's for 49.99 at buy.com if you aren't a basshead. plus $10 google discount if you have that available. it falls somewhere between the er6 and er4's, closer to the er4's.

Just to let the OP know, these are on sale for $130 after rebate and I would seriously consider playing the extra $30 to get them.

I've never bought expensive headphones/earbuds but I think I am going to try for these after reading various reviews. Luckily with Costco if I don't like them or they are uncomfortable I can return no questions asked.

Are the Koss earbuds the best ones under $20. I need some earbuds but there is no way on gods green earth I'm paying $100 for them. I don't need them that bad.

best earbuds/canalphones under $20 would probably be the jvc marshmallows. i haven't used the koss plugs in a year or two, but i don't remember them being anywhere as decent as the marshmallows. they are often onsale at CC for $10

Try these and you'll never turn back. JVC Marshmallows? Sony fontopias? He's upgrading. Read the OP. Fontopias might be good bang for the buck but seriously, once you get to SF5 Pros, you won't even turn back. These slaughtere E2Cs, E3Cs, and many feel the E4Cs are no match either.

I'm thinking of going to Triple.fis though. I've tried the SF5 Pros and Shure E530s.
