first two combined with economic depression.

corporations own the government and use their control to enrich themselves while screwing the rest of the nation economically. the depression hits the average people the hardest, but the super wealthy feel few effects if any, and may even become more wealthy due to their ability to actual profit off of a loss. in the meantime, the government tries to further curtail individual liberties in the name of safety (despite our nearly 2-decade continuous drop in violent crime)

Total economic meltdown money will be worthless mass riots shootings gangland warfare and internment camps.

Govt planning for it too.

Homeland Security has military-equipped Special Response Teams with armored vehicles. http://www.dhs.gov/photo/hsi-using-armored-vehicles-training-ice

Homeland Youth who never were taught constitution. https://www.dhs.gov/blog/2012/09/14/welcome-fema-corps-inaugural-class

A network of detainment camps, for which it is hiring “internment specialists” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0gvWkHNeQs&list=UUiqRq2mT_bBPMRhHap684Ig&index=10&feature=plcp

US Army now has a policy for “establishing civilian inmate labor programs and civilian prison camps on Army installations” http://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/pdf/r210_35.pdf

The smallest police forces in the most remote of locations being equipped with armored cars, drones and full SWAT gear. I have seen them.

What will bring this on? When USD stops being worlds reserve currency and it it collapses. Estimated time 3-10 years.

Yup they threw away 99% of the people since Clinton at least with: Massive offshoring for huge corp profits and lied with junk science comparative advantage. The total demise of civil liberty and the US Constitution by brutalizing every day joe unless you're powerful then laws do not apply in fact you get trillions if you break the law. Both parties represent the interests of the military/security complex, agribusiness, insurance, banks, pharma and oil not you other than minimal assistance payments so you don't riot while they loot.

Sometimes I have a dream like Fallout 3 where all the elite of the world go in their time infinite underground bunkers set off neutron bombs come out to a new garden of Eden after they clean up the bodies. But that probably won't happen - they need slaves to work for them - that's what makes them rich and powerful after all while they enjoy the fruits of the masses labor. So only way Armageddon happens is by accident.

I'm going with 12345.

Whatever we're headed for, far too many will think it wonderful because Dear Leader told them it's so. We will be fundamentally transformed.

If anything changed I'd say more of a police state. Wouldn't surprise me if at some point people throw the rich under the bus and things get bad for them, but everybody is a scared little pussy and so fear driven police state is easy to see. Also, as we have increasing surveillance and laws on things it's a natural progression anyway.

I agree with the principle of the statement and result but what lead you to that time frame?

Definitely a single party dictatorship. Liberals running the federal government, a single payer healthcare system, a tightly regulated financial sector, a $9 minimum wage, and no extended magazines for patriots to use to take their country back. An absolute nightmare.

Corporations have been broken up in the past when they get too big, that is all that is needed now. There should never be a corporation too big to fail.

America has checks and balances for a reason so I do not see anything changing significantly, try to remember that the next time you support weakening them.

In the 80's IIRC wasn't it Bell South (AT&T) that was broken up? I doubt we ever see anything like that again.

It's not even in dispute now that some banks are too big to prosecute and hardly a conspiracy theory, so obviously a massive hole in your so-called checks and balances.

Socialism -> bigger government -> it doesn't work and the economy gets worse -> socialism cry for bigger government -> bigger government -> it doesn't work and the economy gets worse -> socialism -> bigger government -> it doesn't work and the economy gets worse -> cry for more socialism -> bigger government

and on and on and on and on

Until the economy is so bad people can't afford to eat and then they will finally figure it out.

See: Spain, Greece, Japan, Portugal, etc.

Works both top down from taxes and bottom up from inflation. First they came for the 1% and I said nothing because I was the 10%. Then they came for the 5% and I said nothing because I was the 10%. Then they came for the 10% and the 11% didn't care. etc.

And for the bottom up. First I couldn't afford gas so I take the bus. Then I couldn't afford meat so I ate beans. and on and on and on until people finally figure out to just let the economy ride and stop stealing from the younger generations (or they run out of the ability to steal from the future generations)

Which is going to be awhile for this all to play out. There is a high standard of living in the USA so this can go on for a long, long time. Not that it is a good idea. Standard of living will just keep declining until the losses from 2008 etc. are realized. That might mean bank failures of bad banks etc. It wouldn't be pretty but its better than taking the standard of living to zero before we figure it out.
