I've been using Ritek 4x media from ESBuy, but it got kind of expensive. It worked on everything though.
My friend gave me a few Verbatim 2x discs which work pretty well, too.

However, I bought some 1x Princo DVD-Rs from PC Club (80 cents each!) and while they work fine on my DVD player they don't do well in older models or older DVD-Rom drives.

I figured I'd better get some more 4x anyway since I'm almost out but I don't know if these brands are good at 4x:
Optodisc
DupEZ
Princo 4x

They're a lot cheaper than the Riteks but if the compatibility isn't up to par I might as well pay more. Anyone have experience with those brands?

Princo's the only one I've heard of, so I can't really judge. But if your experience is dictating that cheaper = less readable, then suck it up and pay for the premium media.
