What DVD Burner to buy? Pioneer 108?

I have never burned a DVD or owned a DVD burner. I am finally breaking down and buying one.

Am I to assume the pioneer 108 is the way to go?

New Egg has it for like $70ish.

P.S. Are there any FAQ's on DVDRW's anywhere? Like general info on +r and -r?
