What drivers to use with a Radeon?

What is the best driver version to have with a Radeon?

They don't. I prefer the tweaked 7041s.

A good summary of what is available can be found here. My vote would go to the very recently released 7062 drivers which seem to have solved virtually every common complaint raised in the last two months.


Release Notes:
- Sacrifice runs without as many flashing textures, mana & health bars fixed
- Giants runs properly with environment mapping on (cubic)
- Better image quality in NHL 2001 (ice reflections)
- TV Out: OK (you can directly boot on it)
- Better image quality in UT (explosions)
- TV Out settings like position/size: OK
- Quake3 runs smoother
- Diablo2 runs smoother
- Fixed memory leaks
- FSAA working now

I switched to Win 2K so the frequency of our driver releases are a bit low. I don't even think we have a tweaked set.
