what drivers to install for old radeon card

Hey everyone.

I have an old Radeon 64mb VIVO in an old computer

I want to use video out capability on it on a TV.. right now i've managed to do this but I was forced to install .NET framework.. because if I only installed the display driver I did not know how (or maybe i couldn't at all) to enable tv-out

can anyone either tell me how i can use tv-out on that old card by just installing the display driver? or else where I can get a driver, possibly an older driver (list version if you know it) that doesn't require .NET

I know back in the day I could use tv-out without needing .NET.. that was before catalyst even existed

what can i do?

thanks all

On the Ati website, under previous drivers and software, they have drivers dating all the way back to Ocober 2001 that you can download. I'd give one of those a try.

Try Omega drivers.

Chances are, newish drivers will be of no benefit. Certainly, 5.2 was the last set not to have severe TVO defects (5.3 and later output a non-standard resolution resulting in aspect ratio distortion and 5.11 adds forced cropping).

In any case, either fetch an older set with the normal Control Panel or else just the driver and ATI Tray Tools.

If .NET is not otherwise required, it of course may be uninstalled. ATI's software should be uninstalled with their utility from Add/Remove proggies or any instance of aticimun.exe, before installing the "new" (old) drivers.
