Anyone have an 8800GT? What driver do you use?

I see evga's site has 178.13 and nvidia's has 180.48.

Is there still a need to download a third party program to remove nvidia drivers or will Add/Remove programs in windows work OK?

BTW I have Vista 64 if that matters.

Thanks.

I would use the latest official WHQL from Nvidia's site, as they will have the latest bug fixes etc.

You can use Driver Sweeper to remove all traces of old drivers if you wish.

Personally unless I'm switching between ATI and Nvidia cards I just tend to use add/remove.

Just a note,.. 8800 cards are having some issues with the 180 drivers. I went back to the 178's, because the 180's would not work.

Similar situation for me. The 180's worked on my 8800gt, but performance was down noticeably - up to 20% - when I ran the Crysis and FC2 benchmarks.

Yeah, I had issues with the latest beta on my 8800gt (crashes, sparkles on desktop (!)), so I switched back to the latest 180 WHQLs.

I've seen other stability issues with the 180 drivers on a GTX260, so I use the 178s on that card.
