what draws more power? a 47" LCD TV or a 5 year old 27" Sony WEGA tube?

i would think the LCD. even if it's bigger, LCD's use less power and since i assume that it's newer, probably incorporates power saving technology the your old Sony tube does not.

Looking at some sony Manuals, It looks like 170-190 Watts is about normal for a 27" wega (I wasn't sure what year I was looking at).

Sony's 46" VBR2/3 uses 277Watts
Sony's 46" 46V2500 uses 240 Watts

Westinghouse's 47" 47w1 uses 290 Watts.

Without knowing more specifics, it seems like the LCD would use more, but only about another 100 watts more?
