lol that people have fallen for this "customization". people, you didnt make a phone, you picked out the colors you preferred, just like the people who bought lumias and ipods did

I don't think anyone is falling for "customization" in that they think it is infinitely customizable. It's just picking out combinations of colors, much like NikeiD. That said, you do have to give Motorola credit for offering just more than white and black like the iPhones, even if Apple will soon offer gold ("champagne") on the iPhone 5 and more color options on the 5C (or whatever it is called).

Phone color isn't everything or even anywhere near the top of the list of features, but it's a distinguishing factor when the specs of one model vs another doesn't do it for you.

Oh I doubt that.

I've seen people selling gnexs for about 250 dollars, which I find awfully absurd.

I'd say they would go for 200 (or less), and 300 within 6 months (but this all depends on what it costs off contract)

You're looking at GSM GNex's, most likely. It's a very different situation. The GSM GNex is very much a nerd device. Remember that it wasn't sold by any carrier in the US.

The Verizon and Sprint GNex are in a very different situation. They've sold for around the $150 range for quite some time now.

I agree, it probably looks the best... But I feel compelled to choose a different color scheme if I am customizing it. :)

I also took that one, without even looking at the thread.
Black is so cliché by now.
So non-black is the new black, apparently.
