Since Motomaker is live, everyone can play around with it.

I'm making this since the MotoX thread here is more towards the hardware (and the continuous arguments about it), and this is supposed to be geared towards what you would get (if you could) the MotoX

www.motomaker.com

Step 1: Click on link to go to Motomaker.com
Step 2: Click Play with Motomaker
Step 3: Design the back, front, accent, etc
Step 4: Email design to yourself
Step 5: Post image here.

Here is one of my "concepts"

Honestly there's not much to the customization. You have the back, the buttons, and the front. Most people are not going to have radically different front and backs, which basically makes it "body and buttons".

Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool they're letting us do this, but I don't see this thread going far without photoshop.

I think it's kind of a bummer you can only choose between white or black on the face.

If I made one it would be navy blue back, silver trim, white front. Go cowboys!

I wouldn't go with the black or white weave patterned back because my understanding is that is what the two stock versions will be using, so it wouldn't really stand out as much as the customized versions.

I like the woven patterns. I would still pick one of those even though they'll be more common. White woven back with white front and red trim.

The woven pattern makes it look cool. I hate how the front can only be white or black, it throws off the coloring scheme.

I agree, it probably looks the best... But I feel compelled to choose a different color scheme if I am customizing it. :)

The one downside to color customizing is that it can hurt resale.

Eh, it's an Android phone. And an underpowered one at that.

I bet used versions go for less than $150 in two years. Probably less than $250 within 6 months.

Oh I doubt that.

I've seen people selling gnexs for about 250 dollars, which I find awfully absurd.

I'd say they would go for 200 (or less), and 300 within 6 months (but this all depends on what it costs off contract)

Wow these colors suck. The only one aside from the default woven ones I'd even consider is mint green with white face and silver trim.

lol that people have fallen for this "customization". people, you didnt make a phone, you picked out the colors you preferred, just like the people who bought lumias and ipods did

I'm not sure how many color combinations the Lumias or iPods had (3 or 4?), but with the Moto X, between the front, back, and accents, there are hundreds or thousands of possible combinations.

Pretty disappointing this is an AT&T only feature. I might possibly have bought this overpriced phone if I could have bought an unlocked T-Mobile compatible version and customized it.

By the time Moto Maker becomes available to all the carriers I'll probably be buying a Nexus 5.

Just remember that those aren't all the options. They still have yet to add the wooden backplate option.

If they had something in between Olive and Spearmint, I would have chosen it. Dark green like British Racing Green would have been perfect. The only green options are too light/bright or otherwise drab Olive.

Also like red almost as much.
