Anyone got a five gallon bucket and a few min to spare or have previous experience?

What does the water look like when you fill a white five gallon bucket about 3/4 the way with tap water?

Here at Portland OR(I live downtown) it looks yellowish with a very slight green tinge. The toilets develops tan colored buildups where water rests in a matter of days. It washes off easily however. I have no idea what's in the water. High in iron maybe, but I thought iron don't wash off easily at all.

Anyone happen to have analysis result from water in my area?

For the longest time, our water was orange. The town gave out some stuff to put in laundry to prevent rust stains on clothing, but all that did was turn our clothes blue. I was so :|.

Now the water just smells nasty.

OUr water is crystal clean. When I lived in Panama, though, then the local dam that supplied us with water started running low, the water turned a little brownish front sediment 😉
