What does this phrase mean?

Hello fellow ATOTers!
I'm waiting on RMA of my Leadtek 6800GT, I sent an email inquiring the status, no answer, I called em and they sent me answer same day.

The letter stated:

Your RMA replacement is on the way to our LA facility by Fedex. We are expecting to receive it by Next Wednesday. Once we receive it in hand, I will have it dispatched to you by Fedex/Express.

So, when will they receive it? The closest Wed (March 28), or wed after that? (April 4)?

Been waiting for like 2 months now...next time something breaks, I RMA it and buy myself another part, then sell RMA...

Usually "next <day>" means that day of the next week regardless of whether that <day> for the current week has passed or not.

at least to me thats what i say.

According to the Seinfeld episode, if they meant THIS Wednesday, they would say THIS Wednesday. Next Wednesday means April 4th, though for your sake I hope I'm wrong. 🙂

I would say the this/next title resets over the weekend. Next Wed. = the Wed. that is in the middle of next week. If I said it on a Monday, it would be 9 days from now. If I said it on a Friday, it would be 5 days from now.

In conversation I always ask, "Do yow mean three days from now or ten?"

Agreed, that's what I'd take it to mean as well. If they meant Wednesday of this week, they'd usually say "this Wednesday," although you never know unless you ask.
