that's the one I always thought was exclusive to the Asian crowd, I think it means raised eyebrows

 
^^ is a shortened version of ^_^ (just like a happy face, akin to using 🙂, but more geeky).

XD is a smilie showing great elation (ever see someone laugh and clench their eyes together at the same time... same thing)

tt I think is just a shortened (I donno how) version of TT which is T_T.

😵 is a confused smilie. It's akin to the phrase "cocking your eyebrow."

XD - X are the eyes with the D being the giant wide open mouth.

^^ - Not sure, but I always thought that was a shorthand for ^.^

tt - No idea...
 
A lot of the symbols come from anime / manga. If you read a lot of manga, you would understand about the crying one T_T

The ^^ is supposed to be two eyes smiling, as in after you say something funny, or in response to something funny, you put the smiling faces. ^^

XD is one that is used in Southpark as well as anime, basically the eyes pressed together closed, with the mouth grinning.
