What does this error message mean in WinXP?

winXP Pro it just randomly locks. under the event viewer it says this

AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0x71), which lies in the 0x70 - 0x71 protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.

does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

It means that WinXP has issues with your current BIOS.

Check to see if there is a BIOS Update for your motherboard.
That will more than likely clear the error.
