What does the shipping term FOB mean?

FOB=Free On Board

There are two types....FOB Shipping Point and FOB Destination. Shipping Point is when the Buyer pays for shipping and the ownership is the carrier's while Destination is the opposite.

It's free on board like said above. If I recall correctly it's the point where the transaction is agreed to take place so after that point the seller is no longer liable for what happens during shipping (or something).

Isn't FOB actually "Freight on Board"?

Nah, he's right. We just finished covering this very topic in my Accounting class. I've only actually seen it in a wholesalers' catalog IRL though.
