I am sort of new to this, about to build a system after a few years and not keeping up with developments - I am not quite sure what the Nforce2 gives you in terms of features. What I mean is do you need a sound card in addition the the motherboard? Also, I see that some of these come with a Firewire port - do you need a firewire card as well? One final stupid question, I am looking at some cases that have USB 2.0 jacks in the front - if the motherboard has its own located in the rear, can you use the ones provided by the case or are those just useless extras - what I am trying to get at is if you want USB 2.0 jacks on the front of your computer do you need to buy a motherboard that has the jacks located on the front as opposed to the rear of the board?

The sound quality is good enough so that you do not need to get a sound card.
Other integrated features include firewire, USB 2, and up to 2 network adapters onboard.
You will not need a firewire card.....just need to plug in the cables to the rear panel included.
With the case....you should be able to plug the ports straight onto the motherboard.
