I opened the case to take a peek and it has this G on the stick, I know it can't be graphics is it registered or something silly?

Also I can't remember are the old core 2 duo's cranky about matched stick (need to be from the same vendor)?

Machine is Win 10 Pro has 2GB I know it's capped at 4GB.
I know it's DDR3 1333
Not my machine replacement is not an option

Hmm, A GDDR3 DIMM? Interesting...

They use GDDR3 and GDDR5 in graphics cards. That's graphics memory. You would need to find another stick of it, I'm afraid.

What chipset / platform is that, and what iGPU does it have? I wonder if that's VRAM for an onboard GPU, or combined system / VRAM, like on a PS4.

Thats what I suspected, Dave and @VirtualLarry the old core 2 duo's were they fussy about matched sets of memory being from the same vendor?
I can find this spec memory for $13

The C2Ds weren't any more fussy than any other generation of chip in that regard. It's still a good idea to vendor and part#-match your RAM.

Where they do get fussy is that DDR3 wasn't supported on most C2D chipsets, and the chipsets that did, didn't support all possible configurations of 2GB DIMMs. So just randomly buying a 2GB DIMM, you'll very possibly end up with one that's not supported.

For the second reason, I would get a duplicate of this one, since you know it works and can get another for $13.
