What does the Aug release of LOTR have that the Nov release won't have? Anything?

No features are duplicated...the november release will have nothing from the august release, it's all new stuff.

oh give me a break kami they could have just released all of it one release, as much as i enjoyed the movie this is just a lame tactic to get more money out the consumer.

It's also not the same movie, it's a new cut. New Line should be commended...I can't count how many studios release special editions after everyone has bought the regular ones, and the SEs are just rehashed versons of the old ones. New Line isn't ripping you off.

So the August release will have somethings that the November release won't have & vice versa? I'm confused

Oh a 6 disc set...that'll sell well with the general consumer. They originally wanted both releases in August but they didn't have enough time to complete the gargantuan amount of extras for the nov. release

Yep, don't be confused. :)

August: Theatrical cut, it's own set fo special features
November: Extended cut, brand new special features not seen on august release, and no duplicates from august release

they could have simply shipped two versions of the movie in one package or enabled one of those options to insert deleted scenes into the movie as you watch.
