This but the device is a shiv, shank is a verb..

Also, shank is some sort of cut of meat, but I'm not entirely sure what the definition is there..

anything else is craziness.. Pulling down pants? That's waaaaay out of left field.

I've also personally seen spoons (both ends used), pens, small pencils, and rolled up newspapers that have been soaked in soap/water and rehardened with toothpaste

Like in the episode of Dark Angel with the vampire guy?

If I am golfing, it means I get to spend some quality time in the Bush.

Otherwise its usually some teen yelling it in a fps.

I am quite sure that it is a good thing I don't really get upset. I imagine if I go postal I would be a nasty ruthless killer.

You know... I have the most disturbing dream I have ever had, it was a few months ago.

I was in the woods with a buddy (I think it was a buddy, but as time passes I cannot remember all of the details as to what we were doing in this dream. it was someone, but we'll say a buddy). But, all of a sudden this group of people ambush us, and my buddy gets into some trouble by this group, almost like guerrillas or an enemy of some sort.
Regardless, they are armed, or at least this one guy is. We are not. We are by some water, and I see a rusted sharp pipe or steel girder beam of some sort, maybe a few inches in diameter and two feet long or so.
I grab it, somehow sneaked up on this gun-toting madman, and shanked him in the gut. The blood man.... jesus that was a rough dream/nightmare. I woke up in a sweat and my heart was racing. And it was a totally lucid dream, and so fucking vivid. My dreams tend to be like that, sometimes I don't even realize I'm dreaming and I think I'm not even asleep but rather just letting my mind wander in a visual situation.
Needless to say, I couldn't get back to sleep for awhile. I sometimes hate my extremely visual/graphic mind.

And yep, I imagine due to all the crazy dreams/nightmares I have had, if one day I ever go postal, it's going to be world news and no one will dare to arrest me, rather just shoot on sight.  :Q :p

Now that I just wrote that out, I just realized how eerily similar it is to a scene in Butterfly Effect.
Games aren't what make people violent. It's movies! :D

This

I can't wait for golf season to start again.

Same. I only think of two things when it comes to the word 'shank'
Stabbing with sharp object, or screwing up a golf shot terribly.
