It's weird, the older I get the more terrifyign "settling down" seems. I want to get a mortgage, never travel, always be at the whim of a woman, and have kids and the expenses that come with them.. Why, now?

Edit: don't forget having sex with the same woman for 30+ years. Or not having sex and being bitter about it, which seems to be the norm.

It means you have to have a family and stop having fun.

:D

No, having a family just means you have a different kind of fun. I love my life and wouldn't trade what I have for the single life...no way.

Heh. Having kids means it's socially acceptable for an adult to play with legos and other toys again. :)

Woot, something to look forward to!

Us "settled down" people don't want to put up with that sh!t any more. I LIKE less drama in my life.

It means whatever you want it to mean. I'm 22 and married and we are "settled down" but we still do whatever we want, when we want, and we have fun. We save money but buy what we want, we own a house, cars, etc. and none of this needs to change.

I don't think someone as self absorbed as you could "settle down".

If you thought the games played in high school or college (or on the street) were drama, wait until you join the ranks of the "respectable". Huge inertia behind the status quo.

Seriously though, it means to get married and have kids. Preferably in that order.
