Gunbuster, what you are talking about is Serial Presence Detect that supplies default memory timings to the motherboard. Registered memory is buffered memory that is used for servers and other large users of memory to reduce system loading.
most standard mobo's won't even accept it, and if they do it is much slower than a similarly clocked unbuffered piece. (F.Y.I.= buffered/registered memory is the same thing.)
